What are Biostimulators?
- Biostimulators are an increasingly popular skin-tightening cosmetic procedure that works byusing a biocompatible synthetic substance that stimulates collagen production. Once collagen build-up has occurred, the biodegradable particles are absorbed by the body, leaving just the natural collagen support structure.
- Skin ageing involves a loss of collagen and thinning of elastic fibres (elastin). Elastin and collagen form the ‘scaffolding’ of the face, and as they diminish with age, we lose structure and elasticity in the skin, resulting in facial laxity or ‘sagging’, fine lines, and wrinkles. Biostimulators can help replenish the lost collagen and elastin.
- As a result, patients are left with healthy and natural-looking, more youthful skin. Fine lines, wrinkles and skin folds are improved. In addition, it may improve Acne Scars.
- It can also be used to improve facial volume and treat lipoatrophy, which is facial wasting, or loss of facial fat. Biostimulator treatments can be used on many areas of the face and body, including cheeks, temples, lower cheeks, jawline, neck and chest. Unfortunately, due to Australian regulations, we are not allowed to name all the products used. Examples we can discuss are Rejuran and Klardie.
- Our experienced clinicians will perform a thorough facial assessment to determine whether this treatment is suitable for you. Importantly, in this consultation, the clinician will decide on the depth and placement areas of the Biostimulators. Depending on the placement of the injections different outcomes can be achieved. For skin tightening without adding volume to the face, the products are placed more superficially. If skin tightening and some volumising are required, then the product would be placed slightly deeper under the skin.

Rejuran
Rejuran is a skin rejuvenation treatment derived from polynucleotides (PN), which are fragments of DNA extracted from salmon. These polynucleotides are highly compatible with human skin and work by promoting skin repair, regeneration, and collagen production.
How Rejuran Works:
- Skin Repair and Healing: Rejuran stimulates fibroblasts, the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin, to repair damaged skin and strengthen the skin barrier.
- Collagen Stimulation: By encouraging collagen synthesis, it improves skin elasticity and reduces fine lines and wrinkles.
- Anti-Inflammatory Properties: Rejuran reduces inflammation, helping to calm irritated skin and improve overall texture.
- Hydration Boost: It enhances the skin’s hydration levels, leading to a smoother, more plump appearance.
Rejuran is typically administered via microinjections into the skin, making it a minimally invasive option for addressing concerns like fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and overall skin quality. It’s often referred to as a “skin healer” due to its regenerative properties.
- You may notice initial results after a few weeks, however collagen stimulation continues for months therefore results continue to improve over the next 6-12 months.
- Results vary depending on your age, the area and skin condition treated, the technique and the amount of product used. Individual results may vary. In most instances, multiple sessions, usually 2-3 sessions at 4-6 weekly intervals are required for optimal correction. Individual responses vary, so the exact number of treatments sessions required cannot be predicted with complete accuracy.
Klardie
Klárdie combines traditional cosmetic ingredients with advanced bio-fusion technology to enhance skin radiance, hydration, and rejuvenation.
Klárdie’s innovative approach integrates patented stem cell conditioned media and nano-formulation techniques to maximize the skin’s natural potential, offering a synergistic skin rejuvenation.
The key technique involves microinjections or application of Klardie solutions directly into the dermis to deliver active ingredients where they are most effective.
How It Works:
- Active Ingredients: Klardie products, such as Cellup Dia and Ruby Solutions, contain specialized complexes like Hyalusome™ and RADIANCELL-Complex™, which work to hydrate, rejuvenate, and brighten the skin.
- Collagen Stimulation: The active components stimulate fibroblasts to boost collagen and elastin production, improving elasticity and reducing signs of aging.
- Targeted Effects: These solutions help with hydration, pigmentation, texture improvement, and skin density for a more youthful and radiant appearance.
- Application Techniques:
- applied topically in combination with microneedling to enhance absorption.
How long does it take for results to become apparent following treatment?
Results with Klardie treatments typically begin to appear within 2 to 4 weeks after the procedure, as the skin undergoes repair and rejuvenation processes. This timeframe allows for the stimulation of collagen production, improvement in hydration, and enhanced skin texture.
Key Factors Influencing Results:
- Skin Condition: Individuals with more significant concerns (e.g., wrinkles, scars) may notice progressive improvement over several weeks.
- Treatment Frequency: Results are more noticeable with a series of treatments, typically spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart.
- Maintenance: Combining Klardie treatments with a proper skincare routine can enhance and prolong results.
Full benefits, such as improved skin tone, elasticity, and radiance, are usually evident after completing the recommended treatment course.
Want To Know More About Biostimulators?
What areas can be treated?
Biostimulator Injections can be injected just about anywhere where you want to increase your skin’s collagen content.
The most common areas for this treatment are the cheeks and temples, as well as the chin and jawline.
It has become common to be injected into the body too. The neck and décolletage are areas that often display visible signs of aging earlier than the rest of the body, which is why many are now opting for Biostimulator Injections in their neck and chest.
Who is a suitable candidate for Biostimulators?
Patients of all ages and gender are suitable candidates; however, the older you are the more treatment sessions are generally required. The body’s ability to stimulate collagen reduces as we age.
